For more than 100 years, the home of baseball in Detroit stood at the corner of Michigan and Trumbull. Generations of fans came with family and friends to Bennett Park, Navin Field, Briggs Stadium, and Tiger Stadium. When the city of Detroit demolished the stadium, blight took over. Stealing Home, a documentary film by director Jason Roche, is a uniquely Detroit story about the Navin Field Grounds Crew, a group of devoted fans who preserve their city's history by maintaining the baseball diamond at the abandoned site of the old Tiger Stadium. But city officials don't view their civic devotion as an act of service; they see it as trespassing. Will the grounds crew be thrown out? Or will they save this historic baseball home?
